Useful Links of Green Products, Services & Organizations

Here are the green products, services and organizations that we recommend (they are listed in alphabetical order):

Earthlings
Earthlings is an award-winning documentary film about the suffering of animals for food, fashion, pets, entertainment and medical research. Considered the most persuasive documentary ever made, Earthlings is nicknamed “the Vegan maker” for its sensitive footage shot at animal shelters, pet stores, puppy mills, factory farms, slaughterhouses, the leather and fur trades, sporting events, circuses and research labs. The film is narrated by Academy Award® nominee Joaquin Phoenix and features music by platinum-selling recording artist Moby. Initially ignored by distributors, today Earthlings is considered the definitive animal rights film by organizations around the world.

FreeCycle
This is a grassroots and nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It is all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer and membership is free.

Ohio Green Specialists
A new local green group in Ohio that was set up for the purpose of learning and sharing green tips and practices for homes and offices.

Ohio Department of Natural Resources: Division of Recycling and Litter Prevention
Junk mail creates four million tons of preventable waste each year. The enormous waste generated by junk mail has a big negative impact on consumers, our society and the environment. Get resources here to stop the junk mail from clogging your mailbox and the landfill.

Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio
It serves Franklin County and neighboring areas with solutions for solid waste. Their website has many good resources for residents and businesses that want to learn more about being green.

The Waste Not Center
The Waste Not Center in Columbus, Ohio, receives donations from individuals and businesses of supplies that would otherwise be discarded and makes them available to teachers, artists and non-profit organizations at no charge other than a small annual membership fee.

Think Outside the Bottle Campaign
This is a campaign working to promote, protect and ensure public funding for our public water systems. We consider this a very noble campaign because it will also help reduce the number of plastic bottles being thrown into the landfills.
